Bloomfield
Library Program
We're
opening a new Basic Literacy program in
partnership
with the Bloomfield Libraries
on Aug. 31!
Funded through
the Adult Literacy Project at the Hartford
Foundation for Public Giving and the Friends
of the Bloomfield Public Libraries, the program
will be located at the Wintonbury Branch
of the Bloomfield Public Library. Planning
for this program began last fall when the
Bloomfield Public Libraries and a group of
community organizations recognized a need
for adult literacy services in its community.
The program
focuses on reading and writing for adults
with low literacy skills and will be offered
from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Classes will consist of 4 to 6 students led
by volunteer tutors.
The student
registration period for the fall semester
will be extended to Oct. 5 th. Anyone interested
should contact Miriam Lopez at (860) 233-3853
or miriam.lopez@lvgh.org to
schedule an appointment.
