Donate to LVGH
Help us build a stronger, more resilient, fully literate Greater Hartford.
At Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford, we believe that everyone deserves the right to learn how to read, write, and be proficient in English. When a student enrolls in our programs, not only are they looking to better their own lives, they are also helping to build a better community that we call home.
Your donation will help our students reach their goals while also securing LVGH’s future. Having the opportunity to improve their literacy skills, our students will go on to earn their high school diplomas, become citizens, pursue job training and higher education, secure their first jobs, and find better jobs. All of our students learn skills that transform their everyday lives – the ability to read to their child, or talk with their child’s teacher, understand a bus schedule or restaurant menu, call the utility company regarding a bill, or independently fill out a job application.
Simply put, literacy makes lives better.
Each year nearly 900 adults who are struggling with low literacy come to Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford to improve their English literacy skills.
