Freily

Freily was a student at LVGH from 2012 through 2014, when she took ESOL classes to improve her English. Ten years later, in her role as a Supported Employment Specialist with the Hispanic Health Council, she still remembers her time here fondly.

In her current role, Freily helps people with substance abuse or mental health challenges to find work. When she was given information about free trainings being offered by her workplace, she thought that when she was first a student here, this would have been a great opportunity for her. She decided to visit the places that helped her when she first started to spread the word.

During her visit, Freily recalled LVGH as “a welcoming place where students learn English, make friends, and receive support when they first arrive to the U.S.”

“This place gave me what I needed to get started and move up in life.” After LVGH, she studied at CREC, then MCC, and then she felt ready to join the workforce.

Freily asked for a quick tour around the office and when we got to the computer lab, she let out a gasp. “That’s me!” She saw a picture of herself from 10 years ago hanging on the wall and felt very emotional and grateful for her journey and progress since then.

Thank you again for thinking of us and stopping by to visit, Freily! We’re so proud of how far you have come.
