Reyna

Reyna moved to the U.S. from Honduras six years ago. Her sister-in-law found out about LVGH through the community and recommended that Reyna join her here. Reyna was hesitant at first because she has to look after her two-year-old daughter, Reiven. She tagged along with her sister-in-law at the start of this year and discovered that she’d be able enroll Reiven in LVGH’s childcare program. Reyna is now enrolled in our Basic English class and brings her daughter with her every week to read and play in the nearby childcare room while she attends class.

Reyna says the program has already helped her to feel much more comfortable in the U.S. “I want to learn English so I can have more opportunities in this country,” Reyna tells us. “It’s a necessary program that teaches you a necessary language. I was a little lost before and I didn’t understand people, but now I’m not too shy to respond and talk to them.” We can’t wait to continue to watch both Reyna and Reiven’s progress!
